TheDarkData — dark data isn't a risk to manage. It's money you already spent.

Case study

He runs the sales floor at a Jaguar Land Rover store. His data knows where the month went.

J is the General Sales Manager at a Land Rover store in central North Carolina. He's real, he said yes to this story, and the numbers are projected — here's what a 10-day sprint would go looking for in his store's data.

The work product

Not a data dump.
A decision queue.

Every finding has an owner, supporting evidence, a practical next action, and a confidence rating. Your team can act on it without buying new infrastructure.

01

Opportunity register

A ranked inventory of evidence pointing to revenue leakage, avoidable spend, dormant demand, and process friction across the agreed sources.

02

Evidence ledger

Source references and reasoning behind each finding, so operators can verify the signal before committing time or budget.

03

Recovery plays

Clear next actions for the highest-value findings, including the owner, effort, dependencies, and the first measurable milestone.

04

Executive readout

A concise working session that separates quick recoveries from deeper opportunities—and names what should be ignored.

10-business-day protocol

Access narrowly.
Analyze deeply.

The pilot is deliberately bounded. We agree on systems, purpose, access, and handling before analysis begins.

Day 0–1

Frame

Choose one business question, nominate up to three sources, name one executive sponsor, define exclusions, and agree on success criteria.

Day 2–4

Trace

Map signal paths, reconcile records, identify anomalies, and log the evidence behind each candidate finding.

Day 5–7

Rank

Score opportunities for potential value, confidence, effort, and risk. Remove findings that do not survive review.

Day 8–10

Handoff

Deliver the recovery queue, working files, executive readout, and agreed data-deletion handoff.

Read-only by defaultTime-bounded, least-privilege access only to the agreed sources and fields.
Evidence before claimsEvery recommendation points back to a source and stated reasoning.
Defined data exitRetention and deletion are agreed before the pilot starts.
No customer outreachThe sprint analyzes and recommends; it does not contact your customers.

Best fit

You have the data. You lack the decision.

Several years of operating history

Your CRM, billing, support, or project systems contain enough history to reveal repeated patterns.

A specific commercial question

You want to test for evidence of leakage, avoidable spend, dormant demand, or a measurable point of friction.

One accountable executive sponsor

A sponsor can authorize access, resolve scope decisions, and bring in an operator who can verify context.

Disqualifiers

Not for you if…

The sprint stays narrow on purpose. It is not a substitute for access authority, internal ownership, or an open-ended transformation program.

You cannot authorize access

The sprint requires time-bounded access to the agreed systems; read-only by default.

You cannot name one executive sponsor

One sponsor must own scope decisions and the final readout.

You want us to “analyze everything”

Open-ended discovery, automated outreach, and production integrations are outside this pilot.

Request received — thank you. You’ll get a personal reply; there is no automated sequence.

Start the sprint

Request your sprint.

This is where the sprint starts — not a sales queue. Tell me which systems hold the data and where you suspect value is hiding, and I’ll reply personally to arrange the scoping call. No automated sequence.

  • Fixed $2,500 pilot fee — credited against an implementation module started within 30 days of the readout.
  • Up to three systems, read-only by default, one executive sponsor.
  • Every finding backed by evidence — never a guaranteed result.

Fields marked * are required. Submissions are emailed to the founder and are never sold or shared.

Plain answers

Before you circulate the brief.

What counts as a source system?

A CRM, billing platform, support desk, project system, analytics export, or other agreed repository with enough structured history to test the business question. Up to three are chosen during scoping.

Does the sprint make changes to our systems?

No. Access is read-only by default. The sprint analyzes and recommends; it does not contact customers, cancel subscriptions, alter records, or deploy production automation.

Is recovered value guaranteed?

No. The sprint guarantees the agreed work product, not a financial result. Findings depend on the quality, relevance, and accessibility of the supplied data.

What happens after the sprint?

You keep the recovery queue, evidence ledger, and working files. If the evidence supports action, SaaS reclaim or lead revival may be separately scoped as one implementation module. The $2,500 pilot fee is credited only when that module starts within 30 days of the readout.

How much of my team’s time does this take?

About two hours total — one scoping call, one readout, and quick answers when we need context. We do the digging.

What if you find nothing?

Then you get documented proof there’s nothing to recover, and you can stop wondering. The evidence ledger is yours either way.
